A longtime advocate for children and a recognized leader in the child welfare field, Michael “Mike” Shaver believes in strategic collaboration and in using research, evidence and data to develop, deliver and analyze innovative practices and programs to ensure children and families receive only effective, quality services. Shaver has extensive experience in collective impact strategies, including a number of efforts to utilize the model in some of Chicago’s most troubled neighborhoods.
Prior to joining Children’s Home Society of Florida, Mike served for seven years as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Children’s Home + Aid in Chicago. Previously, he ran a management consulting business, served as deputy director for Fostering Results in Chicago and spent several years with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. He earned his master’s degree from the University of Chicago and his bachelor’s degree from Colorado College.
