Kim Oliver leads the Department of Families, Children, Youth and Recreation for the City of Hartford and is the Second Vice Chair of the Board of Education for Hartford Public Schools. Born and raised in Hartford, she has a BA in Economics from Yale University and MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. With a focus on purpose, innovation, and impact, Kim has 25 years of professional experience in public, private, for-profit and non-profit sectors. She has been nationally recognized for her work to improve the lives of children and families including being named an Aspen Scholar by The Aspen Institute, “One to Watch” by the Hartford Business Journal, and one of the 100 Women of Color for 2020.
