Roberta Capella has been the Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages Italy since September 2016. With over 20 years of experience in the sector, she has gained a long experience in leading global organizations, helping to drive change processes and ensuring constant and long-term fundraising growth.

Before being appointed Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages Italy, she served for 10 years as International Director of Fundraising and Communication for SOS Children’s Villages, where she oversaw the organization’s global image and its strategic positioning and led the development of a global fundraising strategy among the 75 national associations.

Between 2015 and end 2016 she has been the Chair of the International Fundraising Leadership Forum, a group of International Fundraising Directors of some of the world’s leading non-profit organizations and the United Nations. From 1996 to 2008 she was Director of Marketing & Fundraising for ActionAid Italy after managing programs for women and children in Latin America.

Roberta graduated with honors in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at the Catholic University of Milan. She completed her training in the UK with a Masters in Business Administration from the Open University and a specialization in “Coaching for Organization Consultants” at Ashridge Executive Education.
