Omar Butler is Chief Executive Officer of New Door Ventures, a workforce development organization preparing opportunity youth for work and life. New Door Ventures provides youth with jobs, training, education, and support they need to discover and achieve their potential so that they can transition to independent adulthood. New Door Ventures supports over 300 youth and young adults throughout the Bay Area. As a first-generation college graduate, his commitment to marginalized communities stems from his journey growing up in public housing in San Francisco’s Hunter’s Point neighborhood. He is passionate about equipping young people with the tools and resources they need to become agents of change within their communities. He is committed to disrupting structures and systems that foster inequality. He was previously the Bay Area Regional Executive Director for College Track, leading efforts across East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento. Omar is an American Express Leadership Fellow at the Campaign for Black Male Achievement. KQED and State Farm have recognized him for his commitment to equity and social justice. Omar serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Children’s Council.
