Marci Hunn oversees the Weinberg Foundation’s Jobs portfolio aimed at improving economic opportunity through employment and training. Ms. Hunn manages a grants portfolio of more than $20 million annually for organizations that support adults and/or youth in job‐readiness training with industry recognized credentials in partnership with employers. Ms. Hunn also oversees the Foundation’s New York City grantmaking strategy, which focuses on all areas of the Foundation’s giving in Housing, Health, Jobs, Education, and Community Services. Across these portfolios, Ms. Hunn partners with nonprofit organizations on capital, program, and operating grants to implement this important work.
Ms. Hunn focuses on promoting collaborative approaches to improving employment and advancement opportunities for low-income individuals throughout the Foundation’s priority communities. Ms. Hunn is a member of the Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative, Chicagoland Workforce Funders Alliance, and New York City Workforce Funders Group. Ms. Hunn serves on the board of the Baltimore Workforce Development Board and its Workforce Systems Effectiveness Committee. Ms. Hunn also serves as a Project Partner on the Workforce Systems Leadership Program in New York City, managed by Coro and the Workforce Professionals Training Institute, to advise senior leaders responding to the changing workforce development landscape.
Prior to joining the Weinberg Foundation, Ms. Hunn served as a program officer with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) in Washington, DC. Her experience includes developing multimillion-dollar grant competitions, conducting risk assessments of grantees, managing multi-stage peer and staff review processes, and developing and overseeing funded programs.
Ms. Hunn is a graduate of the 2011 Class of Leadership Maryland and the 2013 Class of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Leadership Program. She was honored as one of the Leading Women under 40 years old in 2011 and a Top 100 Women in Maryland 2016 honoree, both honors from the Maryland Daily Record. Ms. Hunn is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies with a focus on adult development. Ms. Hunn is married with two children.
