Dr. Schulte is the Vice Chair of Academic Affairs and Faculty Development at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM).  She is Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  Dr. Schulte directs the CHAM Peer Mentorship Program, a volunteer, longitudinal program created to increase academic productivity and enhance physician engagement.  She also designs and facilitates division and department strategy sessions, provides individual coaching to faculty members, and leads the Department of Pediatrics Well-being Committee.

Prior to arriving at Montefiore, Dr. Schulte served as the Department Chair of General Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic, and co-founded and co-directed the Cleveland Clinic Center for Excellence in Coaching & Mentoring (CECM). The Center’s mission is to facilitate a relationship-centered developmental network for all faculty across the career continuum. CECM focuses on training faculty to become peer coaches and mentors, utilizing a unique goal-based framework founded in positive psychology, incorporating a relationship-centered, asset-based approach.  The CECM runs two flagship programs (Staff Coaching and Mentoring Program – for all faculty, and the Advanced Peer Coaching Program – available for faculty by invitation).  Additional programming provides individualized training for special interest groups across the Cleveland Clinic Health System and at outside academic medical centers and healthcare organizations.  Outcomes support increased faculty fulfillment, engagement, resilience, and application of the skills taught in training across professional and personal contexts.

Dr. Schulte serves as senior advisor and faculty for both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association. She has given numerous national and international presentations and workshops related to professional development, coaching and mentoring, physician leadership, well-being and adoption.
