As President of Community Wealth Partners, Sara Brenner guides the organization’s strategic direction to help communities solve social problems at the magnitude at which they exist and oversees the firm’s partnerships and consulting business. With more than 20 years of experience in consulting for nonprofits, for-profits, government and community coalitions, Sara has worked extensively with leaders to envision a better world, develop bold yet practice strategies and get results. Sara is most passionate about supporting leaders in effectively leading change and working with diverse community stakeholders to aligning their perspectives and actions to achieve results. Sara led Community Wealth Partners in developing and implementing a new strategy for greater impact, while achieving significant revenue growth and securing a marquee list of partners.
She serves as an executive coach and frequent speaker and writer on topics of transformational change, collaboration, sustaining impact and innovation, culture and leadership. Her recent publications include Stanford Social Innovation Review’s Co-Creating a Change Making Culture, the Foundation Review article “Internal Culture, External Impact: How a Change-Making Culture Positions Foundations to Achieve Transformational Change”, and the MIT Innovations article “The Art of Sustaining Social Innovation.” Sara has served on the nonprofit boards, including the Thyroid Cancer Survivors Association, where she tripled the organization’s support group network, and the After School All-Stars DC, where she served as the inaugural board chair. Sara received her MBA from Georgetown University and her BA with Honors from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She is a member of the Leadership Greater Washington class of 2013. She is an avid swimmer, outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys traveling, Pilates, and writing poetry.
