Miranda is Assistant Executive Director of Strategy, Evaluation, and Learning at Good Shepherd Services, a youth and family development multi-service organization in New York City. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. At GSS, Miranda oversees the agency’s centralized support in program evaluation and planning, and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Good Shepherd Services, she was a Regional Director at the Covenant House Institute charged with promoting evidence-base practices and developing research partnerships across an international network of programs serving homeless youth. Miranda also held senior management positions at Covenant House California as Director of Quality Assurance and Special Projects and Director of Transitional Living Programs, overseeing supportive housing, employment, and educational services.

Miranda has published and presented at professional conferences on the topics of data and research utilization in social services, evidence-based practice, youth development, and civic engagement. With Jim Youniss, she co-authored Community Service and Social Responsibility in Youth and Roots of Civic Identity: International Perspectives on Community Service and Activism in Youth. Miranda has a BA in History from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from The Catholic University of America. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Brown University’s Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America. Her dissertation received the Hershel Thornburg Dissertation Award from the Society for Research on Adolescence.
