Biography

Leveraging more than 15 years of experience holding practical, administrative, and academic roles in the field of social work, Kate Tansey presently applies her expertise to a role as Adjunct Professor at the St. Louis University School of Social Work. There, she teaches graduate-level courses in Social Justice and Social Policy. Kate Tansey also heads a private consulting and coaching practice. The well-respected professional contributes to her field by presenting at numerous industry conferences, including the National Technical Assistance Center for Children’s Mental Health, Alliance for Children and Families National Conference, and the ETOlutions Conference. To prepare for her career, Ms. Tansey studied Psychology at Webster University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in 1996. She went on to graduate with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Saint Louis University in 1998. She has continued to pursue continuing education, including certification as a Bridges Change/Transition Trainer, certification through Psycholgical Associates in their Leadership Through People Skills program, training in Internal Family Systems, and numerous workshops in Professional Networking. Ms. Tansey continues to learn and acquire performance excellence skills and knowledge as a Malcolm Baldrige Examiner. In her free time, Kate Tansey enjoys such outdoor activities as hiking and biking, as well as Yoga and meditation. She also supports Pedal the Cause, a nonprofit dedicated to funding cancer research through bicycling fundraising challenges.
