MSM & LGBT Portfolio Lead, Elton John AIDS Foundation


Kali Lindsey is responsible for the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s grant-making in the U.S. and for projects seeking to address health disparities among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities globally. For close to two decades, Kali has supported the development of evidence-informed programs and public policy that will improve social and public health outcomes in underserved communities. Before joining The Foundation, Kali developed corporate social responsibility programs focused on men of color for ViiV Healthcare, A GSK company. He has also held leadership roles with the former National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA), Harlem United, NMAC (formerly the National Minority AIDS Council) and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research where his work focused on the development of community networks and civil society to drive demand in domestic and global AIDS and public health efforts. Lindsey has also served alongside brilliant and fearless advocates on local and federal policy committees and boards of directors for non-government organizations. After more than a decade in public policy, Lindsey shifted his work to supporting civil society in achieving their goals through grantmaking.

Lindsey is from Detroit, Michigan and received his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
