Biography

Kathryn Engelhardt-Cronk is co-founder and CEO of MissionBox, Inc.™, a new global online nonprofit resource site that provides the latest curated information and education regarding best practice nonprofit operations and mission delivery, as well as a forum for leadership connection and a constituent engagement software platform.

Launched in late 2017, more than 150,000 nonprofit and charity leaders have thus far accessed missionbox.com to connect, learn and share. MissionBox, a social enterprise, sponsors the MissionBox Philanthropic Fund, offering monthly cash grants to small nonprofits around the world in a wide variety of impact areas. MissionBox Communities™, a charity constituent engagement platform, is MissionBox’s newest product launch.

Prior to MissionBox, Inc., in early 2002, Kathryn saw a critical nonprofit need for service delivery and outcomes reporting technology,. Therefore, she founded a for-profit company, Community TechKnowledge, Inc. (CTK). In the role of CEO and co-designer of CTK outcomes measurement software and services, Kathryn oversaw the development of tools for nonprofits that built their capacity, proved the impact of their efforts and supported mission success. The CTK Foundation, which distributed a portion of corporate profits to charities around the world, was also launched during this same period. When Kathryn sold CTK in 2016, the company was providing outcomes technology and training to over 18,000 nonprofits on four continents, supporting the work of over 250,000 service providers per day and impacting the lives of 22 million service recipients each year.

In her early career, Kathryn served as executive director of several nonprofits in the areas of substance abuse treatment, child abuse prevention, and grief and loss support. She was later the founding executive director of a nonprofit serving families with medically fragile children. Appointed VP of Community Impact for United Way, Kathryn then developed the first 211/help call center for Texas, which is now serving several million residents each year.
