Katie Paris, an advisor to Morino Ventures, LLC., recently moved to Ohio from Washington, DC after serving for more than a decade in leadership positions at political, nonprofit and faith-based organizations. As Senior Vice President of Media Matters for America, which she helped launch as its first Research Director in 2004, Katie plays a key role in strategic planning, donor engagement, and proposal writing for the more than 70-person nonprofit. At Media Matters, Katie co-created a go-to messaging nerve center relied upon by Members of Congress, Capitol Hill and White House staff, and top pundits and advocacy leaders. Katie also helped launch Faith in Public Life (FPL), a strategy center that advances faith in the public square as a powerful force for justice, compassion and the common good. At FPL, Katie organized a presidential forum that aired live on CNN featuring religious leaders posing questions to candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on issues like poverty and climate change, and helped launch coalitions such as the Christians for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, National Religious Campaign Against Torture, and We Believe Ohio. Katie continues to serve as an advisor to FPL, supporting the Nuns on the Bus, nationally and in Ohio, and helping launch FPL in Ohio. Her professional political experience includes working on gubernatorial, senatorial and presidential campaigns. Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University. She resides in Shaker Heights, Ohio with her husband Jeremy.
